It is the flexibility, longevity and strength of the american super hero which has launched it into becoming a major entertainment genre around the world. The Renegades Project will use this medium to not only entertain, but inspire our readers.
To reach this end, dozens of super-hero characters have been created, yet three have been chosen to be featured in the pilot project (See "Help Wanted" for more information about the pilot project). Rough profiles of these three characters are as follows:
Rennek
Smart, snappy and quick-witted, Rene enjoys a life as a care-free nerdy teenage girl. Balancing her days of school and other activities became more complex when "fate" (she feels) called her to action. One day when writing in her journal, she was bombarded by anti-matter, anti-energy and other concentrated anomalies and physical phenomena. Disturbances in the space-time continuum had caused ripples in the fabric of physical existence. These ripples collided upon one person, in one place, at one time, creating an unlikely hero. Rene feels that she has a responsibility to use the abilities fate dealt her to make a difference. She sought out the newly formed American League of Heroes, and dedicated herself to public service. Sketch
Zach is cool, slick and a bit of a show-off. He lives a life that resemble's more of a skater's than a super hero's. Zach is an orphan from the streets of New York, and proved to be a little more than most families could handle. When looking for adventure, he escaped from his orphanage. While on the open road, he was caught in a massive meteor shower. He was hit with a falling stone in the hands, injuring his palms and fingers severely. The contact fused the space-matter to his hands and he blacked-out in pain. The meteor shower attracted the investigation of the Renegades. Powers: Creation and manipulation of unstable "pite" matter from his hands. This enables him to create and form almost anything he can imagine, of any shape size and chemical property.

Alloy
The serious, military minded and tough Alloy is a perfect choice for any crime-fighting team. His mysterious origins center on the infamous Anakboot Science experiments. Alloy is not human, but is made up of a combination of genetically manufactured genes. He was the scientist's first success in a project to create an army of super warriors. However, as an infant, he was kidnapped and raised by an anti-American terrorist group known as the Otto-ad-din who trained him in hand to hand warfare. Alloy became powerful and skilled in martial arts and grew a particular interest in fencing. When he learned of the sinister plans of his trainers, he escaped, deserting the Otto-ad-din and fled to a life in hiding. He was discovered by the American League of Heroes and was assigned to serve with Rennek in the newly formed "Renegades." They benefited from each other's protection.
