Alloy

Background: The Anakboot Nation is a mobile network of terrorists based in countries all around the world. Their ideology is deadly and dangerous, yet it is not based off religious conviction. The Anakboots employ, enslave and incorporate brilliant scientists, and give them range to perform experiments and develop fields of science beyond the bounds of morality. They use the cutting edges of scientific discovery to fund their political agenda (which is strongly anti-american, anti-democratic and anti-capitalistic). They are of the belief that he who controls the newest advances in technology has power over the world. This is a power which they wield to enslave and reign in tyranny. Many other terrorists organizations fund their studies and theft, making the Anakboots one of the most powerful forces in the world.

As the sciences of biological manufacturing spread, the Anakboot Scientists performed countless experiments in genetic splicing. It was their goal to create a super soldier and grow an army of warriors vastly superior to human beings. They incorporated human, animal and synthetic DNA in many varieties. After years of failure, they finally produced a perfect specimen.

Experiment A-9-13 was thus born. He appeared to be human, but had strange features and the desired enhanced abilities. His DNA was studied and plans were made to initiate mass production. Yet one day, things went horribly wrong. A zealous group of terrorists known as the Otto-ad-din broke into the Anakboot labs, destroyed their research, and stole Experiment A-9-13.

The Otto-ad-din lived like their ancestors, away from technology and in tribes traveling across the deserts of the Middle East. They raised the boy as their own secret weapon, and poisoned him with their hatred for humanity, especially the Western World. He was highly trained in hand-to-hand combat and found a particular high level of skill wielding swords and knives.

Finally, the kidnapped boy, the Anakboot experiment, was told of his first mission: an assassination of an American diplomat. Just as he was to prove himself to the Otto-ad-din, he escaped. He could not follow through with his mission, because he knew it to be wrong. Unbeknownst to his creators and captors, he had a strong will, and clear sense of conscience, justice and honor.

The boy escaped from his old life and went into hiding. Eventually, he was found and captured by another powerful organization, the American League of Heroes. Their facilities and means could not contain him, even though they were trying to protect him from the Otto-ad-din and the Anakboot terrorists. The ALOH soon learned that only other super-humans could help him, and they asked for volunteers in their ranks to take upon themselves the task. A young girl from California, Rennek, accepted the mission.

Rennek gave Experiment A-9-13 an American name, Andrew Lee, and helped him see the good in the American way of life. She showed him true heroism, and he decided to stay with her as a partner in crime fighting. He chose the name "Alloy" as his code name with the ALOH, and to this day fights along side Rennek as a member of the Renegades. He still lives and learns in an ALOH facility, but spends much of his time with Rennek and eventually Sketch as well.

Appearance: Alloy is trim, well cut and toned. He is very handsome with thick black hair and side-burns. (Alloy cannot grow facial hair.) His skin color is closer to a grey or silver color than any regular human skin color. He is muscular without being overly bulky. He was issued a lab jump-suit (modified by Rennek to look more like a super hero) by the ALOH which he usually wears while on a mission with the Renegades. Otherwise, he is dressed with average jeans and a T-shirt or in athletic apparel. While outside, he usually wears a black cloak (even on warm days) which he has had since his life with the Otto-ad-din. (It has sentimental value to him, but he does not explain why.) The cloak has a hood and flows like a cape when he wears it with his jump-suit.

Alloy's eyes are black with white pupils, and his hair is black, thick, course and messy. His grey skin can be course or smooth, with scales or some other odd feature. He has a slim masculine face, with sharp features. He also has subtly sharp teeth not unlike a vampire, but not so much that they call attention to themselves. His ears may also have an interesting shape, such as coming to a point, or something like that. Most of his animalistic genetics is manifest in how he moves and acts, and not so much in his features.  His age is unkown, but it is estimated that he is about Rennek's age since he is about her height.

(These physical descriptions are suggestions, and other animal based physical characteristics are possible.)

Super Hero Uniform: The lab issued jump suit (modified by Rennek) covers Alloy more like a thick and smooth wet suit than a light spandex material. Although his muscles still take shape under the suit, most of his features and details of his physiology are smoothed over by the material. Alloy enters and exits his suit like a wet suit through a zipper down the back. The suit is red in color, and a printed yellow design flows through it creating an "X" on his chest and stripes boldly running down his legs. Rennek added a red symbol on the yellow "X" which is a mix of the letter "A" and a hint of a double helix of DNA. Alloy also employs the use of metallic guards on his shins below his knees to his ancles and from his elbows to his wrists. These have gold edging which match the yellow design on his suit. These guards are reflective, and tokens from Alloy's experience in fencing. Alloy also has a grey belt with a black belt buckle. The belt houses his knife holsters, sword sheaths and scabbards. His gloves match his black cloak, and his red boots match the rest of his jump-suit. He usually does not keep his hood up.

Most Distinguishing Characteristics: Alloy is an amazing fighter, has strange grey skin, and is strikingly fit and agile. However, his brightly colored suit usually calls enough attention to him all by itself. His silhouette usually includes one or two swords in his hands, so he can be spotted from far off if they catch the light.

Team Interaction: Alloy brings a militaristic, stoic and high professional level of interaction with the others, and he expects that level of maturity from them as well. He has a very low tolerance for the the care-free nature of sketch, and appreciates Rennek's skill to keep the team together while following his experience and advice. He is the most introverted of the Renegades, but he doesn't worry about that one bit. He admires Rennek's heart and faith in man kind. It is mostly because of his respect for her that he can stand Sketch, and treat him respectfully. He is mostly concerned with the team's success, so he concentrates more at the task at hand then with his relationship with others.

(Note: Alloy is not human, and has never, nor will ever, have any interest in Rennek other than that of a friend - which to Alloy translates as being a team member in crime-fighting.)

Personality: Alloy is a mystery in many ways. He expresses himself as serious and calculating, and expects most people to fear and respect him. He is very, very quiet, and speaks mostly with his body language, swords and his fist. Alloy has virtually no sense of humor, which Sketch tries to change daily. Alloy is also very pessimistic, generally distrusts people, and usually has a conflicting view with the optimistic Rennek. However, Alloy is fiercely loyal, kind and considerate to the innocent, and his friends. His strong quiet nature sometimes overshadows his deep heart. Only those close to him realize that he has another side which leads him to keep pets, read and study many topics, and have other deep cultural tastes.

Habits, Mannerisms, Favorites and Hobbies: Alloy has a similar thirst for knowledge to Rennek. However, rather than going to a school, he spends much of his personal time reading, taking online courses, and self instruction. When people see him on his own, he is usually in the gym of the ALOH facility where he lives, or spending some time with the Renegades. He prefers to be alone most of the time, but will still keep a pet. He also is driven to prove himself, and can become nearly out of control in a fight. Nearly everything he does is challenging and productive, which is in high contrast to Sketch who is mostly goofing off or playing games. Alloy still has a lot of middle eastern mannerisms, but he is not at all self conscious about it. He is very health concious, however, and always tries to keep his skills and body at his peak.

Style of Speech: Alloy's speech has come a long way since he started learning English from the ALOH. Yet he still struggles (as any immigrant would) with every day conversation. Above all else, Alloy's conversations are usually short and to the point, if he talks at all.

Ruled by Emotion or Logic: Alloy's emotional nature is deeply buried under the logical and life-and-death military training of his childhood. However he does act out of strong conviction, since his feelings do run deep. This is rarely manifest, and usually his quick thinking and fact-based behavior is what people see.

What They Care About / Don't Care About: Alloy cares about honor, and living an honorable life. He will do whatever Rennek, his captain, requires of him, and has pledged allegiance to the American League of Heroes. He wishes to serve them better, and therefore is constantly trying to improve his skills and abilities. To him, these people represent true good, and he is always trying to prove himself as a good person. He also strives to make sure his enemies know of his superiority in battle, to ensure he is not bothered by them in the future. When he wins a battle, he usually does it in a memorable way.

Alloy doesn't care about friends and teenage life like most people his age. He also doesn't care about living a "normal" life, and enjoys doing things his own way.

Powers, Skills, Strengths / Weaknesses: Alloy has enhanced resistance, stamina, endurance, strength, hearing, sight, sense of smell, flexibility, agility, and fighting skills on the super-human level. He also has such good fighting skills that he is nearly unbeatable in close or melee combat. His skin is like an artificial armor that resists many things, and is almost bullet-proof. His body can endure extreme conditions, and many of his abilities could be compared to similar creatures. For example, he can run like a cheetah, swim like a shark, climb like a leopard, etc.

Alloy is also very intelligent, and can learn new things quickly. He is constantly found acquiring new knowledge as well as improving his physical capabilities. He also has a tremendous heart, and has a deep level of caring for people he deem as innocent.

His weaknesses include his short temper, love to win a fight and military seriousness. Alloy has a hard time finding joy in life, much to the worry of his team mates.

Greatest Fear: Alloy is terrified of the Anakboots, the Otto-ad-din, and any other tyrannical or evil organizations rising to power. He also fears that he may not be able to live up to what is asked of him.

How they act when they are feeling good: When in a good mood, Alloy is quiet and works very efficiently. He may smile, but usually doesn't express content or happiness more than that. He also spends time with his pet. He enjoys being around others while on a mission or task, but will still isolate himself when not called upon.

How they act when they are feeling bad: If Alloy is upset, frustrated or stressed, he will fight more aggressively and recklessly. He will also over-achieve and try to overcome or solve what is bothering him. He has a hard time letting things go.

Additional ideas: Alloy may become a little more of a show off as Sketch rubs off on him. Hopefully, he can learn to use his deep heart to trust people more as Rennek rubs off on him.
