Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the Renegades Project. As Project Manager, my plan is to create three or so sample issues of the Renegades Magazine in PDF format. This will be done by my team of writers, artists and graphic designers. Since I am short on all of those right now, I have created this site for interested parties like yourself. If you are unfamiliar with the Renegades Project, please visit our page entitled "The Vision."
With those three sample issues (and my connections to the publishing and writing community), I will market the project to various publishers. If a publisher is found who wants to produce our work, I will then contact my team members and compensate them for each of their contributions. Before my team get to work, contracts will be created to ensure their compensation if the project is picked up by a publisher. The Renegades Project is in need of:
- Artists - (Cartoon artists and Super Hero Comic Book artists) Professional experience not required. Now is your chance to draw heroes in action! A zeal for the super hero genre is a real plus. This is also an opportunity to have your work presented to local and national publishers! Skills must include professional grade presentation, working computer literacy and ability to meet deadlines. The ability to create characters visually based off of photographs or likenesses with a decent level of resemblance is also required. Ability to use image enhancing programs (to add shadow, light, texture, etc) is preferable. Japanese or Manga comic book style is not preferred, but some kind of hybrid with that and other generic styles may be acceptable. Feel free to send an email if you have any questions or would like to apply. This is not a paid position, but is part of a pilot program. Three or so issues of the Magazine will be produced, and if this project is taken up by a publisher, then you will be given compensation for your contributions to the project. There is also a possibility of staying on professionally with the project if permitted by the Publisher. All compensation will be decided upon and formalized in a contract before any work is submitted. - Graphic Designers - Designer needed with a good eye for formatting text, photos and art on pleasing backgrounds in a magazine layout. Now is your chance to have your work shown to local and national publishers! Professional experience not required. Raw images and text will be sent to you with suggestions and it will be up to you to create pages and a magazine incorporating all elements in a PDF document.
